What is it about the Jaime (pronounced Hi-may) Garcia Reserva Especial that keeps me going back to it? I can pretty much remember the first time I tried this cigar – it was almost like remembering your first bike ride or first time driving; you never forget it!
I was expanding my palate and came across this beauty. It was my first introduction to a full bodied smoke but after my first taste of it, I found it to be smooth and was very surprised! I expected a peppery, spicy, and bold taste and it was not. My social media friends get a laugh from me when they see me post pictures when I’m smoking a Jaime because I hashtag my post as #JaimeGirl so now I’m known by that name. I feel just that close and connected to this cigar!
After reviewing this cigar, I learned that it was introduced in NYC at a special event in December 2009 and was made in only one size for that event. Jaime’s father, the famous Don Pepin Garcia, was recognized as “America’s Hottest Cigar Maker” by Cigar Aficionado in 2008 and together they have created a beautiful line of highly rated and well distinguished cigars.
The Garcia Family blends are uncompromisingly robust and aromatic, recognized for their distinct combination of strength, richness and spicy aroma along with a heavy finish. The construction is a very meticulous handcrafted cigar with a beautiful wrapper and a traditional triple-cap finish.
The Medium-to-Full Bodied Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial, made at My Father Cigars S.A., has an oily and dark broad leaf wrapper, which provides it an exceptional smoke with an incomparable aroma. It comes in six sizes, packaged in natural wood boxes of 20 cigars.
From the start, I picked up hints of chocolate and a little spice. As I continued to smoke, it became smoother with a little sweetness mixed with spiced tones on my palate. This cigar burns evenly and has a pleasant aroma throughout. At the end I picked up a little more spice but it was not overbearing as I have experienced with some others. I always know what I will get with this cigar and it never disappoints. When I visit humidors and am approached asking if I need help, I usually say “Yes, where are your Jaime Garcia Reserva Especials”? The lounge assistants usually smile as I ask. After all, I am a #JamieGirl who knows what she wants!!

I'll have to try the Jaime (Hi-May) Garcia Reserva Especial. Never have heard of this one before. I'm usually a light to medium cigar smoker and I like flavorful cigars once in awhile too. Always open to try new cigars. Will look for this one next time I'm in a humidor.
It is a medium smoke; if you try it I would love to know your thoughts. Thanks!
